Match Report v Combined Forces Rd8 - Sat 5th June 2021

With the first round done and dusted, we had had to face Combined Forces at the re-located Old Bush Road Oval due to AR Hurst being a little worse for wear thanks to the mid week rain.

With a disrupted week and several boys in doubt, we managed to field a quality team for the encounter. Knowing the Forces would be keen to avenge their first round loss we had the boys up for the challenge.

Our focus was to win the small battles and execute when we got the chance. I feel we definitely did that and scored some excellent tries.

HT came and the boys had a handy lead that allowed us to make wholesale changes and rest some battered up guys. Continuity is always hard when making big changes, but we stuck at it and the boys managed to pile on the points to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Eventually running away with a 55-6 win.

Very pleased to not have them cross our line, so the boys can hold their heads high.

On behalf of the Hammerheads we would like to wish the Forces well with the rest of their campaign. They have been very accommodating towards us and we are happy to give back to them if and when the time comes.
